Waqar is our CIA exam blogger. After busy working on his MBA for a few months, he is back with new strategy for the CIA exam.
I was going through the Gleim online. I thought: why not count how many questions does it have? I was extremely happy with the count because it was above 2,100 questions in overall system. Compared to others, it has sufficient questions for the preparation of part 3 of CIA exam.
The quote that I am sharing with you today is my favorite and it motivated me many times during my preparation for the exams:
There is no glory in practice, but without practice, there is no glory.’’
Talking about books, I am completely in love with Gleim in this regard because it uses simple language. English is not my mother tongue but the way it explains a concept is just “awesome’’.
Part 3 contains 20 study units. All units are like outlines which prepare you to answer the questions in the question bank. Gleim uses the best strategy to prepare a student — they want students to understand the concept through their small units (theory) and apply it to their question bank.
I have read lots of comments related to Part 3. I was analyzing why people consider this a hard part. One of the reasons is that it has so many topics and the passing percentage is so high which requires you to master all the topics at master level.
Risk management is one of the difficult topics of part 3. As I came across many comments related to this topic, I myself think this topic is so vast that more focus is required. The combination of topics makes it harder for people to grip on all the topics.
Another one of my favorite quote for encouragement:
Every improvement matters. Whether it’s big or small. Slow progress is better then no progress.’’
This week I am taking leadership and communication without reading the text, because I just went through them in my MBA second semester a month ago. I did go through the outline, and I read and completed the questions.
I will write more on leadership and communication in Part 3 in my next post, and share with you how I perform without going through the theory in the text books. See you then.
