Progressing in CIA Exam (and Finally, I Submitted My My Application)

progressing in cia examWaqar is our CIA exam blogger. After busy working on his MBA for a few months, he is back with new strategy for the CIA exam.

In my last post I went through the tests on some topics and shared my scores in Gleim online. However, I did not tell you what I did during the session.

So it was a study session in Gleim online. I tried each question, studying the answer choices I didn’t see or understand before. It’s really important to learn why an answer is right and why the other options are wrong. I write down separate notes for Gleim online sessions — whenever I read an answer choice explanation that is not written in the book, I write that down in my notes.

Really appreciate Stephanie for pointing that quantity is not as important as the quality. I want to assure you guys that Gleim is all about quality. I did not find one single low-level question — it could be that some questions are straight-forward but they also give us the knowledge about the topic. Sometimes, people do not give importance to small things which could become the reason of our failure.

Recently while I was working on a session in Gleim online, I thought of an idea. As it will take 6 to 7 weeks before I can get Wiley, I will work on Gleim online twice, and will read each and every option every time to get a clear understanding.

Currently I have completed at least 25% to 30% of Gleim. Percentage-wise it could have been better, but because of the ‘’Eid’’ (a festival and celebration for Muslims), I will be busy this week at home, just like how other people are during Christmas.

Lastly I took the opportunity to send my application to IIA because they were offering fee waiver in the month of  August. I had the intention of registering for taking the exams in the near future.

Before we say goodbye for now, here is a beautiful quote:

Ignore the noise and focus on your goals”
